Title 24 acceptance testing is California's mandatory verification that commercial HVAC systems operate as designed per Energy Code requirements. ATT-certified technicians perform functional tests on economizers, demand control ventilation, and variable speed drives.
Only California ATT-certified technicians can perform and sign acceptance tests. Certification requires passing the CEC-approved ATT exam and maintaining annual continuing education requirements.
Failed tests require system modifications and re-testing. Common failures include incorrect economizer settings, improper VAV minimum flows, and DCV calibration issues. Contractors must correct issues before re-testing at additional cost.
